Unit Converter Guide

This tool supports conversion among five common categories: length, weight, temperature, area, and volume. The source and target values are linked bidirectionally — modifying either side instantly converts the other. All calculations run locally in your browser.

Conversion Principle

For proportional units (length, weight, area, volume), the source value is first converted to the base unit of that category, then from the base unit to the target unit.

Target = Source × Source factor ÷ Target factor

Temperature involves a zero-point offset, so it must first be converted to Celsius and then to the target unit:

°F = °C × 9/5 + 32
K = °C + 273.15

Base Units by Category

  • Length: base unit meter (m), includes mm, cm, m, km, in, ft, mi.
  • Weight: base unit gram (g), includes mg, g, kg, t, oz, lb.
  • Temperature: Celsius as intermediary, includes °C, °F, K.
  • Area: base unit square meter (m²), includes cm², m², ha, km², ft², acre.
  • Volume: base unit liter (L), includes mL, L, m³, gal, ft³.

FAQ

Is the gallon US or imperial?
This tool uses the US liquid gallon (1 gal ≈ 3.785 L). The imperial gallon is about 4.546 L; convert manually if needed.
Why do temperature results have minor decimal deviations?
Temperature conversion involves a zero-point offset (e.g., 32°F corresponds to 0°C) rather than pure proportion, so results may have repeating decimals. This tool keeps up to 10 decimal places.
Is the tonne a metric ton or a US ton?
The tonne here is a metric ton (1 t = 1000 kg), different from the US short ton (about 907 kg).

目标值 = 源值 × 源单位换算系数 ÷ 目标单位换算系数

温度因存在零点偏移，需先换算为摄氏度再换算为目标单位：

°F = °C × 9/5 + 32
K = °C + 273.15

常见问题

加仑是美制还是英制？
本工具采用美制液体加仑（1 gal ≈ 3.785 L）。英制加仑约 4.546 L，如需英制请按比例自行换算。
温度换算结果为什么有小数偏差？
温度换算包含零点偏移（如华氏 32° 对应摄氏 0°），并非纯比例运算，结果可能带有循环节，本工具保留至多 10 位小数。
吨是公吨还是美吨？
