Age Calculator Guide

This tool calculates your age precise to the day based on your date of birth, and also shows your Chinese Zodiac, Star Sign, and a countdown to your next birthday. All calculations run locally in your browser.

Calculation Logic

  • Years / Months / Days: Calculated by subtracting year, month, and day components sequentially. When the day difference is negative, it borrows from the previous month using that month's actual number of days.
  • Days Lived: The complete number of days from midnight on the birth date to midnight today.
  • Next Birthday: Based on this year's birthday. If it has already passed, the count rolls over to next year. Shows the number of days until the birthday.

FAQ

Is the zodiac based on the Gregorian or lunar calendar?
Strictly speaking, the Chinese zodiac transitions at the Lunar New Year (or the Start of Spring / Lichun). This tool simplifies by using the Gregorian year. If you were born in January or February and the Lunar New Year hasn't passed yet, your zodiac may be one year early — please cross-check with the lunar calendar.
How are star signs determined?
Star signs are based on the Gregorian birth date, corresponding to the sun's position along the ecliptic. They are unrelated to the lunar calendar, so you can safely use your Gregorian birthday to look up your sign.
How is "Days Lived" calculated?
It takes the time difference between midnight today and midnight on the birth date, converted to whole days. Leap years and varying month lengths are accounted for, so the result is precise.

计算逻辑

  • 岁 / 月 / 天：按公历年、月、日逐级相减，天数不足时向上借位（借上一个月的实际天数）。
  • 已活天数：从出生日 0 点到今天 0 点所经过的完整天数。
  • 下次生日：以今年生日为基准，若今年生日已过则顺延到下一年，计算距生日当天的天数。

严格来说生肖以农历新年（或立春）为界切换。本工具为简化按公历年份计算，出生在 1、2 月且农历尚未过年者，生肖可能比实际提前一位，建议结合农历核对。
星座按什么划分？
星座按公历出生日期划分，即太阳在黄道上的位置，与农历无关，因此可放心使用公历生日查询。
已活天数怎么算的？
取今天 0 点与出生日 0 点的时间差，折算成完整天数。已考虑闰年与各月天数差异，结果精确。
